Volcanic ash blocks air traffic...

In France, the three main airports in Paris decided to allow inbound flights
to land between 12 and 4 p.m. But no takeoffs were permitted, and other
airports in northern France remained until at least 8 p.m. local time.

The volcanic activity in Eyjafjallajokull, located on the southern
tip of Iceland, started on December 2009, when earthquakes and
ground deformation were recorded in its area by seismic devices.
The April 14 eruption sent volcanic ash as high as 36,000 feet.
