"Psy hits all the symbols of Gangnam (Seoul rich area) opulence, but each turns out to be something much more modest, as if suggesting that Gangnam-style wealth is not as fabulous as it might seem."
[offtv video HERE] Deeper inside the meaning, now... THE ATLANTICwrote:''The video is rich with subtle references that, along with the song itself, suggest a subtext with a surprisingly subversive message about class and wealth in contemporary South Korean society''. [MORE] ____
I think Blogger is the more 'intuitive' platform for blogging. They can change anything theywant in the Dashboard but please... do not modify the photo editor! Last time it has been atotal failure:
It was today, in the occasion of the opening of the exhibition dedicated to the painter Jean-Paul Laixhay's work [Feb. 16 to April 7/2012]. Discovered byPeterBrook in the Tragedy ofCarmenattheBouffes du Nord Paris' theater, mezzo-soprano Hélène Delavaultallies humour, perfect body language anda sharp tonguewell adapted tosuch a malicious repertoire: 'Couleur Absinthe', Chansons Incorrectes, which means... 'not very correct' songs.
[G@ttoGiallo] In this video, Hélène performs L'Amour au Passé Défini, Cyrille Lehn is at the piano. (music Vincent Scotto, lyricsGéo Koger). If you understand French, advanced French, you'll really enjoyevery single word! Here are the lyrics.
[TheEkonugroho]"FFR" is a collaboration project betwen DGTMB (Eko Nugroho) and Evily Candy Machine (Wedhar Riyadi). 'Fight For Rice' is the first documentary promoting merchandise-artists in Indonesia. It tells about a 'shop project' in Yogyakarta initiated by Eko Nugroho. The project was born to assist local artists in distributing their merchandise. Actually, it is not an individual project, it involves several people from different backgrounds: by using their knowledge and wisdom, the artists and the community members have created a micro-economy circuit as a strategy to overcome their limits and survive. ___
A slice of the history of Persia in the second half of the 18th century in a beautiful and greatly informative Beate Petersen'svideo - a clevermontageofanimationandNasser al-Din's daguerrotypes, depicting the life and some deadly intrigues at the court of the Shah, where women have had a huge influence. His mother and two favorites among his 84 women, in particular, have determined the major political turning points of that time.
"In 1842, a Persian delegation visited Queen Victoria, in England. When they returned home, they brought with them a Daguerrotype photographic camera, a gift from the queen to the 11 year-old heir to the Persian throne, Nasseredin Mirza. The young heir fell in love with the magical contraption. In the following decades, he documented his life, revealing to the public eye what the public eye was never supposed to see..."
ناصرالدین شاه و 84 زن اوis the result of a brilliantcombination: thephotographic documentation of Nasseral-Din through Beate Petersen's magic looking glass... with theadded charm of Milad Movahedi's soundtrack.
A few women of the Shah's harem - from private life straight to posterity. From the 'shah's illness and the calico cat' episode - I couldn't resist to such a cat story.
"After Nasseredin Shah's death, the older and respected women remained in the harem. The others were sent back to their relatives with yearly pensions or they moved to the holy cities of Karbala and Najaf. Anis o-Dolch survived her husband by only a few months."

Somptuous and unconventional, this 1896 painting of the Shāh by the artist Kamal Al-Molk, Mohammad Gaffari shows Nasser al-Dinlost in a huge Hall of Mirrors [which is also the painting title]. You can read Houman Harouni's post on TehranBureau. ___

But now, in 2010, 120 years later, he is back as...'na stampa e 'na figura !
LA SCOMPARSA DI PATÒ[The Vanishing of Patò] Challenging the allegations of L'Araldo di Montelusa, edition of Monday 28 April 1890 - one of the precious documents 'unearthed' by Andrea Camilleri and that constitute the basis on which the Sicilian writer has been able to build the imaginary and strange adventure as well as the possible death of Mr Pato - a recent survey, carried out in close collaboration between MM Camilleri, Mortelliti and Nichetti, gives us back the same man, priciso 'ntifico, in good shape and ready for a new adventure... the same adventure, in fact, brought by a movie.
Director of the Trinacria bank of Vigàta and notable of the town, Mr. Antonio Pato usually plays the role of Judas in the 'Passion of Christ' for the traditional Venerdì Santo performance and each year, as he commits suicide, Judas disappears from the scene through a trapdoor disguised under his feet. But in the year 1890, the accountant disappears once and for all.Is Patò dead or is he hiding ? Murì Patò o s’ammucciò? The investigation is set in motion in Vigàta, revealing the usual rivalry between the Reali Carabinieri and the Pubblica Sicurezza, punctuated by the provincial and local newspaper articles and some anonymous and spicy commentaries that bloom on the walls of the city. Rumors and gossip explode, heralds of a scandal that the authorities will suffocate... at the expense of truth.
This is the first film adaptation of a historical novel by Camilleri, partly because his detective series, animated by his Inspector Montalbano is far more popular, at least in Italy, and has already inspired a television series, rather poor in my opinion and I'm afraid it would require a bigger talent to bring to the screen a historical novel by Camilleri, without betraying the essence of his creation. We can always wait until the movie comes out, no hurry. ___ LA SCOMPARSA DI PATÒ, Italy, 2010 Director: Rocco Mortelliti Screenplay: Andrea Camilleri, Rocco Mortelliti, Maurizio Nichetti Cast: Nino Frassica, Maurizio Casagrande, Neri Marcorè [Patò], Alessandra Mortelliti Production: 13 Dicembre S.r.l. ___
In a recent interview, the writer points out, with his usual irony, the similarities between the pressures exerted on the police in his novel, with those we still can find today in the late Berlusconi's 'affairs'. Citing Tomasi di Lampedusa in Il Gattopardo, Camilleri notes that even today, in Italy, everything changes in such a way that nothing changes. ___

-Theme :Dynamics of Peace The world has never known a lasting peace time between different countries, people, or neighbors, nor even between members of one family. Because our world has not experienced this state that we call peace, we do need to learn tolerance, cooperation and sharing. In short, it seems we should change our behavior. - Check out the Program -and theSpeakers...
