From late morning until late afternoon, the snow covered Paris... causing of course many problems to motor traffic but... ... turning some of the city's parks and streets in fabulous skiable slopes. - Above, G@tto's Griset spot, - Below, Benji's iPhone photos taken along the Vincennes racecourse fields.
But if it didn't last long, alas, in my fief... ... things were very different on some Paris heights ! Have a look at this freeride happening on the Buttes Chaumontgardens, tonight... [Enjoy the article[fr] and the slideshow onSkipassMagazine]
And the Butte Montmartre, then ? ... transformed by snow in a fairy alpine village !
Waiting now for the next episode, winter is still young ! . . .

I mean the movie, of course. A 24 month-production is nothing compared to Ramesses' waiting for 3200 years to accomplish his trip on the screen.
You can see the trailer, in ENGLISH and FRENCH versions and even download the 2 parts of the film.

Le M.U.R.# 84 - Paul Santoleri - November 14/2010 "The work is a way to keep time, to maintain an awareness of my own relationship to my inner and outer world."
But now, in 2010, 120 years later, he is back as...'na stampa e 'na figura !
LA SCOMPARSA DI PATÒ[The Vanishing of Patò] Challenging the allegations of L'Araldo di Montelusa, edition of Monday 28 April 1890 - one of the precious documents 'unearthed' by Andrea Camilleri and that constitute the basis on which the Sicilian writer has been able to build the imaginary and strange adventure as well as the possible death of Mr Pato - a recent survey, carried out in close collaboration between MM Camilleri, Mortelliti and Nichetti, gives us back the same man, priciso 'ntifico, in good shape and ready for a new adventure... the same adventure, in fact, brought by a movie.
Director of the Trinacria bank of Vigàta and notable of the town, Mr. Antonio Pato usually plays the role of Judas in the 'Passion of Christ' for the traditional Venerdì Santo performance and each year, as he commits suicide, Judas disappears from the scene through a trapdoor disguised under his feet. But in the year 1890, the accountant disappears once and for all.Is Patò dead or is he hiding ? Murì Patò o s’ammucciò? The investigation is set in motion in Vigàta, revealing the usual rivalry between the Reali Carabinieri and the Pubblica Sicurezza, punctuated by the provincial and local newspaper articles and some anonymous and spicy commentaries that bloom on the walls of the city. Rumors and gossip explode, heralds of a scandal that the authorities will suffocate... at the expense of truth.
This is the first film adaptation of a historical novel by Camilleri, partly because his detective series, animated by his Inspector Montalbano is far more popular, at least in Italy, and has already inspired a television series, rather poor in my opinion and I'm afraid it would require a bigger talent to bring to the screen a historical novel by Camilleri, without betraying the essence of his creation. We can always wait until the movie comes out, no hurry. ___ LA SCOMPARSA DI PATÒ, Italy, 2010 Director: Rocco Mortelliti Screenplay: Andrea Camilleri, Rocco Mortelliti, Maurizio Nichetti Cast: Nino Frassica, Maurizio Casagrande, Neri Marcorè [Patò], Alessandra Mortelliti Production: 13 Dicembre S.r.l. ___
In a recent interview, the writer points out, with his usual irony, the similarities between the pressures exerted on the police in his novel, with those we still can find today in the late Berlusconi's 'affairs'. Citing Tomasi di Lampedusa in Il Gattopardo, Camilleri notes that even today, in Italy, everything changes in such a way that nothing changes. ___

-Theme :Dynamics of Peace The world has never known a lasting peace time between different countries, people, or neighbors, nor even between members of one family. Because our world has not experienced this state that we call peace, we do need to learn tolerance, cooperation and sharing. In short, it seems we should change our behavior. - Check out the Program -and theSpeakers...

It would be difficult not to say a word about Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibition - coming straight from Basel andcelebrating the fiftiethanniversary of theartist's birth - which 'irradiates' from the Paris Modern Art Museum with its unusual huge scale show. Comprising a hundred major pieces – paintings, drawings, objects, from numerous museums and private collections, this retrospective offers a chronological overview on Basquiat evolution during his meteoriccareer from the streetto the canvasand the chance to assess the painter's contribution to art and art history. Born in Brooklyn in 1960, Basquiat died due to a heroin overdose in New York in 1988. He was only 27 years old. In 1984, the Modern Art Museum had already featured Jean-Michel Basquiat alongside with Robert Combas, Hervé Di Rosa and Keith Haring in a collective exhibition on France/USA Free Figurative work.
[IsTaRaI] "Centered on a rare interview that director and friend Tamra Davis shot with Basquiat over twenty years ago, This definitive documentary chronicles the meteoric rise and fall of the young artist." "Tamra Davis details the mysteries that surround this charismatic young man, an artist of enormous talent whose fortunes mirrored the rollercoaster quality of the downtown scene he seemed to embody." -"Jean-Michel Basquiat, the Radiant Child" [wiki].
* The movie will be screened at the Museum on Thursday, October 28 at 7 pm.

October 22 update... The queue at the entrance of the museum was still reasonable around noon, under a perfect blue sky. Two hours later, it had probably reached some 150 or 200 meters, but thanks to such a weather, nobody seemed upset. One word on the exhibition: Go! it is absolutely dazzling! ___
